Square: Spreading 880 meters from north to south and 500 meters from east to west, Tiananmen Square is a place to hold national ceremonies and to greet foreign leaders. The square is seated at the very heart of Beijing in the traditional center axis. To the north of the square is the Forbidden City - the imperial palace during the Ming and Qing dynasties.
City: The largest and best-preserved wooden architecture complex in the world. Located in the Beijing city center behind Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City is encircled by a 52-metre-wide moat along the 12-meter-high wall. It served as the imperial palace for the 24 emperors in Ming and Qing dynasties from 1420 to 1911.
Palace: The Summer Palace is virtually a museum of classical Chinese garden architecture. Covering an area of 290 hectares with water making three quarters of it, the Summer Palace consists of three functional areas: Court Area, Longevity Hill Area and Kunming Lake Area. Kunming Lake is most beautiful, and the best time to enjoy it is in the summer to take a cruise by boat and have skiing in the winter. In 1998, it was designated as a World Heritage Site and in 2007 it was officially authorized as a National 5A-leveled Tourist Attraction.
Duck Dinner: Beijing
Roasted duck is renowned as the
most delicious food of Beijing.
Opera: China boasts of more than 300 local operas, Beijing Opera is the largest one among Chinese traditional opera types, which gradually came into being after 1790. Full of Chinese cultural facts, Beijing Opera presents the audience with an encyclopedia of traditional culture, as well as unfolding stories, exquisite costumes, beautiful paintings, graceful gestures and martial arts.

Wall Of China: The Great Wall is ancient military defence work which extends to more than 5,000 kilometers. The Badaling section is not only the best preserved but also the most impressive and representative section of the Great Wall. It is located roughly 70 kilometers northwest from the center of Beijing. It is a defensive outpost of the Great Wall occupying a commanding strategic position. The wall was made wide enough for five or six horses to be ridden abreast on its top. In peacetime, the Wall has proved useful as a highway, transporting people and supplies over large distances. Because of its magnificence and beauty of its scenery, Badaling gained the worldwide reputation by being enlisted in the World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO in 1988.
Tombs: Located at 50 kilometers northwest of Beijing proper, the Ming Tombs are Mausoleums of 13 emperors from Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). Each tomb complex starts with a stone bridge, followed by a front gate, a stele pavilion, the Gate of Eminent Favor, the Hall of Eminent Favor, a watchtower and then the Precious Hall. Zhu Di, the third emperor of the Ming Dynasty, built his Changling Tomb, this is the best preserved tomb area. The underground palace at Dingling Tomb consists of an antechamber, a central chamber and a rear chamber plus the left and right annexes.

Visit the Jiaohe Ruins, the Karez
Well and the Sugong Pagoda.
Ruins: Jiaohe meaning the
confluence of two rivers once
stood an ancient city since the
Han dynasty, nearly two thousand
years ago. It ended during Ming
dynasty about 500 years ago. It
started out as a garrison, but
was built up by during the Reign
of Gaochang into a major city
in the Turfan region from 499-640
Well: The Karez is an underground
irrigation system that was installed
2,000 years ago. The karez is
made up of three parts, ditch,
underground channel and dam.
Pagoda: The Sugong Pagoda
is known as the Turpan Pagoda
among local residents. A stone
tablet at its entrance cites the
reason for the pagoda's construction
in Wei and Han characters. The
structure was built in 1181 of
the Hui calendar (1779) by Su
Laiman II, the ruler of the Turpan
Prefecture, to honor his father.
- Dunhuang (Breakfast

Visit the Gaochang Ruins, the
Baizikeli Thousand Buddha Cave
and the Flaming Hill. Take overnight
soft berth train to Dunhuang.
Ruins: The Uigur city-state
that ruled the area from around
the 9th century to the 13th. In
its heyday, Gaochang was a great
Uigur city built on the business
and trade that came through its
gates. The religious beliefs of
many peoples entered China through
this area, first Buddhism and
Thousand Buddha Caves: There
are 77 numbered grottoes, about
40 of which still have murals
in them. The group of grottoes
in Bizaklik, with a total of 1,200
square meters of murals, has the
most grottoes, most diversified
architectural styles and the richest
mural content in the Turpan area.
Hill: Located at the northern
edge of the Turpan Basin, Flaming
Hill is about 10 kilometers east
of downtown Turpan, stretching
up to 100 kilometers from east
to west and about 10 kilometers
from south to north. With an average
temperature of 30 degrees, it
is known as the hottest place
on earth and the highest temperature
can even reach 47.8 degrees.
Breakfast is on your side on the

to the hotel in Dunhuang. Visit
the Mogao Grottoes and the Dunhuang
Grottoes: The Mogao Grottoes are situated in a valley 16 mi. (25 km.) southeast of the town of Dunhuang City in Gansu Province. Construction of the grottoes began in 366 A.D. and continued through the fourteenth century. Perhaps the most artistic are those dating from the Tang Dynasty (618-907 A.D.). Today a total of 492 caves are still in good condition with 54,000 sq. yd. (45,000 sq. m.) of murals, over two thousand painted statues, and five wooden buildings constructed in the Tang and Song Dynasties.
- Lanzhou (Breakfast
Take flight to Lanzhou. Visit
the Waterwheel Garden and the
Grottoes: Situated in Yongjing
County within half a day's distance
from Lanzhou by car, the Bingling
Monastery has one of China's best
grotto clusters. Among the survivals
are 183 grotto niches displaying
694 stone and 82 clay sculptures,
in addition to more than 900sqm
of murals and other historical
relics. The age-old tone-carving
art is considered a gem of history
and culture in China.
- Xiahe (Breakfast
Drive to Xiahe. Visit the Sangke
Grassland and a Tibetan family.
- Lanzhou (Breakfast
Visit the Labrang Monastery and
have a watch of the morning devotion
there. Drive back to Lanzhou in
Monastery: One of 6 leading
temples of the Gelug Sect of Lamaism
built in 1709, or the 48th year
of the Kangxi Reign of Qing. Housed
in this sumptuously ornamented
monastery are tens of thousands
of cultural artifacts, Tibetan
scriptures and 60,000 books. The
Grand Summons Ceremony takes place
here twice a year.

Take flight to Xian and transfer
to the hotel. Visit the Ancient
City Wall: A defensive structure which was erected in the 14th century Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), under the regime of Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang. The wall is 13 meters in circumference and 12 meters in height, with a deep moat surrounding it. Visitors could take the bike ride around the whole wall, very relaxing.

Cotta Warriors Museum, the Forest
of Stone Steles Museum and the
Big Wild Goose Pagoda.
Cotta Warriors Museum: A form of funerary art buried with the first emperor and unifier of China - Qin Shihuang (259BC-210BC). An army of over 7,000 life-size terra cotta soldiers and horses protects his tomb during his eternal rest. The Terra Cotta Army was discovered in 1974 by farmers attempting to dig a well near Xi'an.
of Stone Steles Museum: The
Stele Forest stores voluminous
artworks which possess not only
eximious value of handwriting
and art, but also rich cultural
connotation. The Stele Forest
began to be built in 1087.
Wild Goose Pagoda: It was built in 652 A.D. in the Tang Dynasty (618-907) to house Buddhist scriptures brought from India by the monk Xuan Zang. Xuan Zang studied Buddhism in India from 629 to 645. The pagoda currently stands a height of 64 m (210 ft) tall with seven stories.

to the city.
Mosque: First built in the Tang Dynasty (618-907), it is a popular tourist attraction of Xi'an, and is still used by Chinese Muslims today as a place of worship. Occupying an area of over 12,000 square meters, the Great Mosque is Chinese style in its construction with some Arabic lettering and decorations; it has neither domes nor traditional-style minarets.

Museum: A large-scaled museum of ancient Chinese art. Established in 1952, this museum is housed in a former bank building. Shanghai Museum is renowned at home and abroad for its rich collection of 120,000 precious cultural relics. At present the halls display Chinese bronzes, ceramics, and paintings arranged in chronological order.
Yuan Garden: Originally designed in the sixteenth century, Yu Yuan is a garden within a garden. Divided into two parts, the outer garden contains pavilions, rock gardens, and ponds and leads to the inner garden, which is a smaller version of the outer garden.
French Concession: A foreign concession in Shanghai from 1849 until 1943. For much of the 20th century, the area covered by the former French Concession remained the premier residential and retail district of Shanghai. Despite re-development over the last few decades, the area retains a distinct character, and is a popular tourist destination.
Bund: A famous waterfront and is regarded as the symbol of Shanghai. The bund is on the west bank of Huangpu River and winds 1500 meters in length. The most attractive sight which is at the west side of the Bund are the 26 various buildings of different architectural styles including Baroque, Gothic, Romanesque, Classicism and the Renaissance.

To cover the cost of processing your cancellation
and to compensate us for the risk that we may
not be able to resell your travel arrangements,
we make a cancellation charge on the scale shown
below. The person who made the booking is responsible
for paying this charge. The size of the charge
